The accused in Crime No.441 of 2021 have filed this application to quash the FIR pending against them.

2.The case of the prosecution is that due to money dispute, the accused have harassed the defacto complainant, demanded more rate of interest for the amount he borrowed, abused him using filthy language and threatened him with dire consequences. Hence the case. 3.The learned Counsel for the petitioners submits that the parties have amicably settled their issue and seek to quash the FIR on the ground of compromise.

4.In view of the above submission, this Court is of the view that since the offence under Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Charging Exorbitant Interest Act, 2003 is an offence against the society, this Court is not inclined to quash the FIR at the stage of investigation. 2/4
