This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner for compassionate appointment, based on his application, dated 08.09.2020.

2. The case of the petitioner is that his mother worked as a Secondary Grade Teacher in the third respondent School and died in harness on 11.10.2007, leaving behind the petitioner and his elder brothers viz., Rajarajan and Cheran. Therefore, the petitioner made an application for compassionate appointment to the first respondent, on 08.09.2010. However, till date no order has been 1/3

passed. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing this writ petition.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the application made by the petitioner is directed to be considered by the respondents.

4. The second respondent has filed a counter. However, there is no averments made with regard to the disposal of the petitioner's application.

5. In the light of the above, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's application dated 08.09.2010 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. with the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
