PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents Nos.3 and 4 forthwith to provide new water connection to the petitioner's residential area situated at 1/382T, Kandasamypuram, Palayamkottai, Aathur Taluk, Dindigul District, based on the representation of the petitioner dated 25.09.2023 and as per the provisions of Tamil Nadu Panchayat Act, 1994, within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing respondent Nos.3 and 4 to provide new water service connection to the petitioner's residential property situated at Door No.1/382T, Kandasamypuram, Palayamkottai, Aathur Taluk, Dindigul District, based upon the representation of the petitioner dated 25.09.2023.

2. The learned Government Advocate appearing for respondent Nos.3 and 4 has got written instructions from the Panchayat Secretary, Palayankottai Panchayat, Athur Panchayat Uniot, Dindigul District, to the effect that prior 2/5

permission from the Highways Department is required to effect the water service connection to the writ petitioner and, hence, seeks two weeks' time.

3. In view of the above said facts, respondent Nos.3 and 4 are directed to provide water service connection to the writ petitioner's residential property on or before 15.02.2026.

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
