PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus to direct the first respondent to speedy trial to dispose the petition filed under Section 17(1)(a)(i) of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 in C.C.No.5 of 2016, before the Tamil Nadu Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Madurai Bench, Madurai, within the time stipulated by this Court.

[Order of the Court was made by D.KRISHNAKUMAR, J.] Prayer in this writ petition is to direct the first respondent to dispose of the petition filed by the petitioner under Section 17(1)(a)(i) of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 in C.C.No.5 of 2016, before the Tamil Nadu Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Madurai Bench, Madurai, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that though she filed a petition before the first respondent as against the respondents 2 and 3 seeking compensation for their negligence and deficiency of service during the year 2016, till date the said petition has not been disposed of.

3. Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent, on instructions, submitted that the above petition has been adjourned to 20.02.2024 for filing written arguments.

4. Recording the above submission of the learned Special Government Pleader, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the petition in C.C.No.5 of 2016 filed by the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible.
