ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the subject property has been in possession of the petitioner and his forefathers for more than 50 years. The petitioner seeks grant of patta. He would further state that for the nearby lands pattas have been granted to the respective occupants. The petitioner only seeks parity of treatment and has given a representation on this regard.

3. Originally, the second respondent was the competent authority to consider the petitioner's representation to grant patta. Now, the area is falling within Thiruparankundram Taluk. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.1177 of 2017 Therefore, the petitioner is permitted to make a fresh representation to the jurisdictional Tahsildar, Thiruparankundram Taluk. The said authority shall pass orders on the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks after receipt of such representation.

4. The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
