By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. The limited prayer sought for in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner, dated 07.08.2019 as against the dismissal order confirmed by the Director General of Police, Chennai, dated 22.06.2019.

3. Since the appeal is said to be pending, it would be appropriate to direct the respondent to dispose it of expeditiously, within the stipulated time.
