Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner seeks issuance of patta in respect of the petition mentioned land.

3. It appears that the petition mentioned land belonged to the petitioner's father. He is no more. He left behind the petitioner and few others as his legal heirs. Whenever the pattadar passes away, the revenue authority upon coming to know of the same, shall effect mutation.

4. I direct the respondent to pass appropriate order on the petition mentioned application for mutation of patta on merits and in accordance with law. This shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. The respondent shall put all the interested parties on notice before passing final order. It is open to the respondent to pass order one way or the other.

5. This writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. 2/4
