ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, seeking to direct the first respondent to pass orders in the appeal dated 05.07.2023 filed by the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 and carefully perused the entire materials available on record. Considering the nature of relief to be granted, issuance of notice to the third respondent is dispensed with.

3. The petitioner is the only daughter of one Thirumathi.Lakshmi and Thiru.Rajendran. Her father passed away on 14.05.2022, following which she sought for a legal heir certificate. The legal heir certificate came to be issued in the name of one Pitchaimani and her children about whom the petitioner had no knowledge at all. Hence the petitioner made 2/4

an appeal dated 05.07.2023 to the first respondent seeking to issue a legal heir certificate afresh by removing the names of the unwanted persons. However, the same was not considered.

4. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court hereby direct the first respondent to dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioner within a period of six weeks after giving opportunity of hearing to the third respondent.

5. This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
