For Respondent : Mr.A.Robinson, Government Advocate (Crl.Side) PETITION FOR ANTICIPATORY BAIL Under Sec.438 of Cr.P.C PRAYER :- For Anticipatory Bail in Crime No.413 of 2019 on the file of the respondent police ORDER : The Court made the following order :- Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent.

2. The petitioner apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under sections 483, 484, 485, 420 of I.P.C., and Sec. 24(1) of COTPA Act,2003 in Crime No. 413 of 2019 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

3. The learned Government Advocate points out that the petitioner is the owner of the lorry from which a huge quantity of Tobacco and Panmasala which have been prohibited by the State Government have been recovered. The petitioner had illegally purchased the said goods from Karnataka State and supply the same to the retailers in Tamil Nadu. The value of the contraband seized is around Rs.70 Lakhs. There are totally 4 accused in this case. Two accused were arrested and later granted bail. It is not a case to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner and accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
