20282 of 2025 in WP(MD) No.24550 of 2025 PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to make correction the extent of land as `101.58 hectares` instead of `69.10 hectares` in survey Nos., 106/1 situated at Mekkarai Village, Shencottai Taluk, Tenkasi District by considering the petitioner`s representation dated 21.08.2025.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a correction in the revenue records relating to land in survey No.106/1 by replacing 69.10 hectares with 101.58 hectares.

2. During the last hearing, learned Government Advocate 2/5

submitted that 32.40 hectares had been acquired from the Adhinam and that he would place relevant documents on record. Such documents have been placed on record and there is evidence of receipt of compensation in relation to the acquisition of 32.40 hectares. As a result, the request for correction no longer survives.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner, however, states that the respondents are endeavouring to encroach into and occupy the remaining extent of 69.10 hectares. This allegation is strongly refuted by the official respondents, who state categorically that no effort has been made to encroach into or occupy the 69.10 hectares owned by the Adhinam. This statement is recorded.

4. With these observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
