O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a retired Special Grade Office Assistant of the respondent Transport Corporation, who had attained superannuation on 31.12.2018 seeking payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits of Rs.1,25,882/-.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, though the petitioner has retired from service on 31.12.2018, the terminal benefits were released between 22.02.2022 and 20.05.2022. Hence, the petitioner has sent a representation to the first respondent on 14.08.2024, seeking payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. 2/4

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents are directed to pay the interest at the rate of 6% p.a., for the belated disbursement of Rs.1,25,882/- from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
