ORDER
The petitioner has sought for quashing of the impugned order dated 01.09.2025, by which, the petitioner's request for conducting a public meeting at Periyakulam Old Bus Stand Ground was rejected on the ground that the meeting is likely to promote enmity between two castes. The petitioner has sought for a consequential direction to the respondents to grant permission to conduct the meeting at the said place.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, would submit that though the respondents had denied the permission to conduct a public meeting by the impugned order, they are willing to offer an alternative place, namely, the ground opposite to KSK Canteen near Old Bus Stand at Periyakulam, for conduct of the public meeting on 13.09.2025 between 6.30 PM and 9.30 PM.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is agreeable for the said suggestion and also undertakes that the petitioner would ensure that there is no speech in the meeting, which would induce communal clash.

In view of the above undertaking by the learned counsel for the petitioner, which would be treated as an undertaking given by the petitioner and the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court directs the respondents to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct a public meeting in the ground opposite to KSK Canteen, near Old Bus Stand at Periyakulam on 13.09.2025 between 6.30 PM and 9.30 PM.
5. This Writ Petition is ordered accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
