ORDER

The petitioner filed this writ petition for a mandamus directing the first respondent to issue a direction to the third respondent to include the petitioner Deemed to be University in the Tamil Nadu Engineering State Counselling list of colleges in the Academic Year 2017.

2.Learned Counsel appearing for the third respondent / Anna University submitted that they have nothing to do with the counselling list of colleges and that it is governed by Tamil Nadu Admission in Professional Educational Institutions Act, 2006 (Act 3 of 2007).

3.Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent submitted that the Rules have been framed vide G.O.Ms.No.56, Higher Education (J2) Department, dated 04.04.2019 and the powers of authority has now been conferred upon the Commissioner / Director of Technical Education, instead of the Anna University. 4.In view of the subsequent developments and passage of time, this writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to take a decision on the petitioner's representation for permitting them to participate in the ensuing counselling from this academic year onwards. Such a decision has to be taken within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
