ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to promote the petitioner with consequential benefits from date of the eligibility list published on 12.4.2013.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner was employed as Teacher in Government Elementary School at Rajapalayam. While she was in service, she has improved her educational qualification as M.A., B.Ed., in Tamil and B.A., B.Ed., in English. Thereafter, she was placed in Government Adidravidar Welfare Primary School, Maniampatti, Sivakasi Taluk as Secondary Grade Teacher. In the seniority list published on 1.3.2013, her name was in 57th place and in the list of eligible candidates for promotion as BT Assistant, her name was in 35th place. Thereafter, the seniority list for the post of BT Assistant was not published after 1.3.2013 and no promotion was given to anybody from the year 2013. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation on 2.6.2017 and a reminder on 7.7.2017 to the respondents to consider the petitioner's name for the promotion to the post of BT Assistant. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 2.6.2017 within a reasonable time as fixed by this Court.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has no serious objection to consider the representation of the petitioner.
5. In view of the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider the representation dated 2.6.2017 submitted by the petitioner and to pass appropriate orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve(12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if there is no legal impediments to do so.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
