ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to restore Assignment Patta No.550 in respect of the property in Survey No.157/1, measuring an extent of 4 Acres and 20 Cents, situated at Keeranur Village, Melur Taluk, which was granted in favour of J.A.Rathinam, Ex-Naik (Indian Army), by cancelling the fraudulent Pattas issued in the name of T.Srinivasan bearing Patta Nos.916 and 960 in Survey Nos.157/2, 164/2, 164/3, 165/1 and 165/2, Keeranur Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, and to reclassify the said land in favour of J.A.Rathinam (Naik) instead of Panchami land.
2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the matter is pending before the second respondent / Revenue Divisional Officer,
Melur Taluk, Madurai District, and that the second respondent would conduct an enquiry and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks.

Recording the aforesaid submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court directs the second respondent to conduct an enquiry and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, the fourth respondent, and any other persons who may be affected by such decision, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
