Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to disburse the interest of 10% to the gratuity amount for the period of the retirement date of the petitioners till the disbursement of gratuity amount to the petitioners, disburse the same as per Na.Ga.No. 22735/2018, dated 13.01.2020 of the 1st respondent's order and fix a time frame.

2. The writ petitioners were employed as staff in the 2nd respondent-Temple. It is true that their gratuity amounts had been

settled. But then, there was delay. All that the petitioners seek is payment of interest for such belated settlement.

3. No exception can be taken to the said request. The issue on hand is covered vide order dated 11.11.2022 in W.P.(MD) No.3288 of 2022.

4. The 2nd respondent is directed to pay interest at the rate of 10% per annum on the belated disbursement. This shall be done within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. This Writ Petition is allowed, accordingly. No costs. 26.10.2023 Internet : Yes/No Index : Yes/No abr
