O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] The writ on hand has been instituted seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to take appropriate action against the respondents 8 to 13 for illegally acquired the Government land and placed an association board in the name of 'Deivendra Kula Vellalar Samuthayam, Soorangudi', in Survey No. 325/2, Soornagudi Village, Vilathikulam Taluk, Thoothukudi District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 06.10.2023, in accordance with law, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 6, based on the report of the Tahsildar, Vilathikulam, dated 29.07.2025, submitted that encroachments have been identified in the subject land and since the subject land is the State Highways property, a report has also been submitted to the State Highways Authorities for removal of encroachments.

3. In view of the said submission, it is for the Highways Authorities to initiate appropriate enforcement action for removal of encroachments in the Highways properties, based on the report of the Tahsildar, Vilathikulam, dated 29.07.2025 or by conducting inspection or survey independently.
