Respondents PRAYER :-:- This Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 5 to take appropriate action against respondents 6 to 10 for excommunication of the petitioner's family and to ensure no family ex communicated in any manner belonging to the Thirunageswaram Jamia Masjid Pallivasal (Sunnat Jamat) situated at Thirunageswaram, Thanjavur District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 18.08.2025.

ORDER

The petitioner prays a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 5 to take appropriate action against respondents 6 to 10 for ex-communicating the petitioner and his family, who belonged to 2/5

Thirunageswaram Jamia Masjid Pallivasal (Sunnat Jamat) situated at Thirunageswaram, Thanjavur District, on the basis of his representation dated 18.08.2025.

2. It is reported by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor and the learned Government Advocate that the competent authority to decide such complaint is the second respondent /District Collector.

3. Without expressing any opinion on the merit of the complaint, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and take such decision as may be appropriate within a period of four weeks from today.

4. With the above observation, this Writ Petition is disposed of. 11.09.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No LS 3/5
