Respondent Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records relating to the impugned auction notice of the respondent in Ka.No.Ko.2/2017/U.Po.(Pa)-1 dated 04.08.2017 and quash the same and further direct the respondent herein to extend the fishery license up to the period of 5years as per G.O.Ms.No.332, Animal Husbandary and Fisheries (FS-IV) department dated 17.11.1993 in respect of the Vairavan Tharuvai and Puthan Tharuvai Tank located at Sathankulam Taluk, Tuticorin District.

ORDER

The issue raised in this writ petition is squarely covered by an order of this Court in a batch of writ petitions in W.P.(MD) No.6840 of 2012 etc., dated 20.10.2022.

2. This Court in the aforesaid judgment, had clearly held that auctioning of fishery rights cannot be faulted with for the reasons indicated therein.

3. In view of the categorical pronouncement, the issue raised in this writ petition is also covered therein and accordingly, this Writ Petition fails and the same is dismissed.
