Heard Mr.I.G.Ivyn, For M/s.Isaac Chambers, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.Om Prakash, learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

The Writ Petition has been filed praying for a Mandamus, directing the first respondent to recognize forthwith the status of the petitioner school namely, Vikaasa Public School, 9, Maharishi Vidyalaya Salai, K.K.Nagar, Madurai District as a Linguistic (Malayalam) Minority Educational Institution.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner had made an application to the first respondent for recognizing the petitioner's Institution as a Minority Institution on 12.02.2015 and the same is even pending disposal before the first respondent. Pending Writ Petition, the 2/5

Government issued G.O.Ms.No.109 Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare (MW1) Department dated 29.12.2022 forming an Empowered Committee for granting minority status to educational institutions.

4.Considering the petitioner's request has been pending for an inordinate period, the first respondent is directed to submit the recommendation to the Empowered Committee for consideration. The Empowered Committee shall consider the petitioner's case in accordance with the guidelines issued under G.O.Ms.No.109, and dispose of the matter as expeditiously as possible.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
