Contemnors PRAYER : Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the respondents for the deliberate and willful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.M.P.(MD).No.18650 of 2017 in W.P.(MD).No.22345 of 2017 dated 14.12.2017.

To grant an Ad Interim Injunction restraining the respondents from awarding the bid to any other third parties pending disposal of the above writ petition.

Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court To issue a writ of 1/3

Mandamus, directing the tender committee comprising of respondent Nos. 2 to 4 to declare the petitioner as the successful bidder in pursuance of the Lorry Freight Tender Notification published in Dinathanthi Daily dated 08.11.17 for the movement of essential commodities to the 218 fair price shops situated in Vilavancode Taluk for the period from 01.12.17 to 30.11.19 and consequently direct the 4th respondent to issue Contract Appointment order in the petitioners favour within the period that may be stipulated by this Honble Court.

ORDER

The petitioner alleges that the interim order granted by this Court was disobeyed by the contemnors herein. 2.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the contemnors submitted that the tender was concluded by a day before the grant of interim order. But, in any event, taking note of the interim order given by this Court, the entire tender process was cancelled. Hence, nothing survives in this contempt petition and the same stands closed.
