PRAYER: Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, praying to punish the respondent / contemnor for his willful disobedience of the order made by this Court in W.P.(MD) No.22818 of 2017 dated 21.12.2017.

Prayer in WP(MD)No.22818 of 2017: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to take action against the 4th respondent for his denial of permission to solemnize and register the marriage of his son, namely, Syed Dhaha Asip in violation of their direction and consequently directing the 4th respondent to grant permission to solemnize and register the marriage of his son, namely, Syed Dhaha Asip with Aysha Burvin to be held on 24.12.2017 at Bhava Kasim, Olivulla Community Hall at Elankadai, Kottor Post, Nagercoil with police protection by considering the petitioner's representations dated 28.11.2017 and 02.12.2017.

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that against the order passed in the writ petition, a writ appeal in W.A.(MD)No.315 of 2018 has been filed, in which the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court has granted interim stay.

2.In the above circumstances, this contempt petition is closed.
