The writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to provide police protection and permission to conduct Vinayagar Chathurthi festival from 24.08.2017 to 26.08.2017 in Arasanur Village, Thirumansolai Post, Sivagangai Taluk, Sivagangai District and to direct the respondents to provide police protection and permission for conduct Valli Thirumanam Drama on 25.08.2017 and Vinayagar procession on 25.08.2017 about 05.00 P.M, in accordance with law.
2. Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the prayer sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous, since the above said Vinayagar Chathurthi festival, from 24.08.2017 to 26.08.2017, itself is over.
3. Recording the above submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous. No costs.
