Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court To issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to immediately complete the construction works and inaugurate the functioning of the Regional Cancer Centre, Balarangapuram, Madurai and New Six Floors Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (N.I.C.U) at Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital with all infrastructure and staff forthwith within the time stipulated by this Honble Court.

ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by N. KIRUBAKARAN, J.] This Contempt Petition has been filed alleging that the order of this Court passed in W.P.(MD)No.6211 of 2017 dated 02.08.2017, by which, this Court directed the respondents to complete the construction work and inaugurate the functioning of Regional Cancer Centre, Balarengapuram, Madurai, has not been complied with.
2. The second respondent has filed a compliance report stating that pursuant to the order of this Court, the Regional Cancer Centre at Balarengapuram was established and it was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister on 04.12.2020.
3. This Court appreciates the efforts of the Government for opening the Regional Cancer Centre at Madurai.
4. In view of the compliance, no further orders are necessary. Accordingly, the Contempt Petition is closed.
