PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent No.2 to dispose the appeal preferred by the petitioner dated 20.08.2025 U/s.12 of the Patta Pass Book Act for cancel the forged patta (Patta No. 11662) created by respondent Nos.4 to 8 with regard to the petitioner's property situated in Survey No. 546/1, 547/1 for an extent of 5 Acres 16 cents at Ervadi Village, Keelakkarai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District and to restore the original Patta (Patta Nos. 1886, 1898) in favour of the petitioner's name.

A patta transfer order was appealed by the petitioner before the Revenue Divisional Officer in August 2025. By this Writ Petition, the petitioner seeks expeditious disposal thereof.

2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 to 3. He submits that the appeal would be disposed of within twelve weeks.

3. Given the nature of relief claimed in this Writ Petition, it is not necessary to issue notice to the private respondents. Accordingly, this 2/4

Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal on merits within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and respondents 4 to 8 herein. No costs.
