2. The petitioner is a member of CSI diocese. His grievance is that in violation of the Covid guidelines, CSI election was held on 25.07.2021. He wants action to be taken against Pastor Johnson Samuel Jesusdas and other office bearers of the Diocese. The complaint given by the petitioner before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Madurai was disposed of by relegating the petitioner to move the jurisdictional civil Court. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner filed an appeal before the first respondent. The petitioner wants the said appeal to be disposed of.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, I sought the assistance of Mr.Ajmal Khan, learned Senior counsel. The learned Senior counsel pointed out that the Government itself had taken a policy decision to drop all criminal prosecutions registered or initiated in the wake of violations of Covid guidelines.

4. Therefore, I am of the view that no purpose will be served in directing the first respondent to pass formal order 2/4

3 W.P.(MD)NO.26219 OF 2023 on the petitioner's complaint. I would call upon the petitioner to give quietus to the issue. This writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
