PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the Respondents to survey and demarcate the petitioners property comprised in Survey No.262/1 to an extent of 1 Acre and 21 1/4 Cents in Joint patta No.386 situated at Vember Village, Vilathikulam Taluk, Thoothukudi District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 13.08.2025.

ORDER

The petitioner seeks consideration of the request for survey in relation to the property in S.No.262/1 of an extent of 1 acre 21 1⁄4 cents. 2.Learned counsel for the petitioner relies on the joint patta No.386 wherein the petitioner's father Sathyanathan is shown as one of the joint pattadhars. Out of the total extent of 2.042 hectares, she states that the petitioner owns 1 acre 21 1/4 cents after taking into account the sale of 11 3/4 cents to Muthuvel under document No.2341 of 2012.

3.Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. He submits that the petitioner's request would be considered and disposed on merits within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.Patta No.386 is in the names of 15 persons including Sathyanarayanan. It pertains to an extent of 2.042 hectares in S.No.262/1A1A1. Therefore, it is necessary to put all the joint pattadhars on notice before a decision is taken in relation to the petitioner's request. It is also necessary to put the owners of the neighbouring lands on notice.

5.Therefore, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's request for patta after putting on notice all the persons mentioned in the preceding paragraph. Such representation shall be disposed of within 3 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
