Respondent PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 6% per annum, for the period of delay from 01.07.22 to 30.05.23, in paying the amounts paid towards his terminal benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity and Encashment of Leaves within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court and without affecting his right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed by a Special Grade Driver of the respondent Corporation who attained superannuation on 30.06.2022.

2. According to the writ petitioner, his terminal benefits were released only on 30.05.2023. Hence, he has made a representation on 17.08.2023 for payment of interest for the belated settlement of the terminal benefits.

3. In view of the above said facts, the respondent is directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% from 01.07.2022 till the date of realisation within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
