This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the third respondent to complete cancellation of patta proceedings pertaining to (i) Patta No. 2181 (S.No.1044/1A) and (ii) Patta No. 4162 (S.No. 1044/1B) in respect of the property situated at Veerapandi Village, Theni District based on the orders passed by the second respondent made in Na.Ka.No. 47560/2021/D1 dated 04.01.2022 and O.Mu.No. 37539/2022/D3 dated 12.09.2022.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties.
3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 submitted that the third respondent would conduct and conclude the inquiry after putting the petitioner, respondents 6 to 8 and 10, 11 and all other necessary parties on notice and would pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within the time frame stipulated by this Court. 3/6

In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer to conduct and conclude the inquiry on merits and in accordance with law after providing an opportunity to the petitioner, the private respondents and all the necessary parties and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
