ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle petitioners surrender leave salary of Rs.62,135/- for 87 days together with interest at the rate of 6 percent per annum payable from the date of his retirement to till the date of actual payment.

2. Though the petitioner has retired from service on 30.06.2023, the surrender leave salary has not been disbursed to the writ petitioner, despite giving representation to the respondent on 13.05.2025, for disbursing the said benefits. Since the representation has not been considered, the present writ petition came to be filed. 2/4

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to release the eligible surrender leave salary to the writ petitioner along with interest at the rate of 6% p.a., from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With this direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
