ORDER

The petitioners seek to quash the final report in C.C.No.228 of 2022 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Ramanathapuram, which was filed for the offences under Section 294(b), 324 and 355 of IPC. 1/8

2. The allegation in the final report is that the petitioners engaged in wordy quarrel with the defacto complainant, abused her in filthy language and assaulted her and thus committed the aforesaid offences.

3. Due to the intervention and advice of the elders, the petitioners and defacto complainant have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 3rd September 2025 and the scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows:

The petitioners, namely, Selvarani (Aadhaar No.9395 6829 5951), Keerthana (Aadhaar No.6953 3854 9774) and the second respondent, namely, Gokilarani (Aadhaar No.9627 6672 2670) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.M.Arul, Sub Inspector of Police, Kenikarai Police Station, Ramanathapuram District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

Considering the nature of the offences and the compromise arrived between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report in C.C.No.228 of 2022 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Ramanathapuram is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
