ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking issuance of Writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's request for grant of patta for the land in natham Survey No.154/37 measuring to an extent of 0.50 Ares situated at Kovilpatti Village, Andipatti Taluk, Theni District.

2. By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. The land in natham Survey No.154/37, measuring to an extent of 0.50 Ares situated at Kovilpatti Village, Andipatti Taluk, Theni District, originally belonged to the petitioner's father and after his demise, the 2/6

petitioner continued to be in possession and enjoyment of the subject property. The petitioner approached the respondents for grant of patta in his name for the subject property. But the same was not considered by the respondents. The petitioner submitted a representation on 18.09.2024, to the third respondent for grant of patta. But the respondents did not initiate any action. The petitioner therefore filed the present Writ Petition for the aforesaid relief.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that though larger relief is claimed in this writ petition, it will suffice if a direction is issued to the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 18.09.2024, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Considering the limited prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the third respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.09.2024, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
