[Order of the Court was made by M.DURAISWAMY, J.] The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to take necessary action on the basis of his representation dated 11.01.2019, seeking permission to conduct Jallikkatu function in Kottur Village, Theni District.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the first respondent had rejected the request made by the petitioner for conducing Jallikattu function, by order dated 23.01.2020.

W.P.(MD) No.27188 of 2019 submitted that the prayer sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous and liberty may be given to the petitioner to challenge the order, dated 23.01.2020, passed by the first respondent.

4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. It is open to the petitioner to challenge the rejection order, dated 23.01.2020, passed by the first respondent, in accordance with law. No costs.
