ORDER
The petitioner seeks to quash the final report in C.C.No.290 of 2025 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Tirunelveli, which was filed for the offences under Section 498(A), 294(b) and 506(1) of IPC.
2. The allegation in the final report is that the petitioner and the defacto complainant are husband and wife; that the petitioner harassed the defacto complainant on account of dowry demand, abused her in filthy language and threatened her of dire consequences and thus committed the aforesaid offences.
3. Admittedly, the petitioner and the second respondent are husband and wife and they have now entered into a compromise and they are now living together. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 9th September 2025 and the scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows: 2/7

4. The petitioner, namely, M.R.Ganeshmoorthy (Aadhaar No.9493 0284 4816) and the second respondent, namely, T.Packiyalakshmi (Aadhaar No.8435 3109 4660) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by M/s.G.Anitha, Woman Head Constable, Palayamkottai All Women Police Station, Tirunelveli City. The defacto complainant confirms the compromise arrived with her husband and states that they are now living together.

In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report in C.C.No.290 of 2025 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Tirunelveli is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
