PRAYER: Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, to punish the respondents for their deliberate and willful disobedience of the order of this Court dated 16.08.2018 passed in W.M.P.(MD)No.15966 of 2018 in W.P.(MD)No. 18072 of 2018.

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 and 7 would submit that illegal sand quarrying has already been stopped. On identification of illegal sand quarrying, criminal actions are initiated. 2/4

2.That being so, there is no willful disobedience of the order of this Court. If at all any complaint is received on illegal sand quarrying, the authorities competent are directed to initiate immediate action by prosecuting the offenders under criminal law.

3.With these observations, this Contempt Petition stands closed.
