ORDER

The petitioner has filed a writ petition before this Court in W.P. (MD)No.21199 of 2023 with a grievance that she has filed an appeal before the Revenue Divisional Officer in the month of May 2023 is kept 1/4

pending.

2. When the writ petition came up for hearing on 30.08.2023, the learned Special Government Pleader represented that enquiry has already commenced in the appeal preferred by the petitioner and it would be concluded within a reasonable time. Therefore, this Court, by order dated 30.08.2023, disposed of the writ petition with a direction to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Thoothukudi, to conclude the proceedings within a period of twelve weeks. However, the same has not been concluded.

3. Therefore, the petitioner has filed a contempt petition in Cont.P. (MD)No.715 of 2024. This Court, by order dated 12.04.2024, closed the contempt petition with a direction to the concerned District Revenue Officer to conclude the enquiry within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.

4. The petitioner has again filed this contempt petition that the order of this Court dated 12.04.2024 passed in Cont.P.(MD)No.715 of 2/4

2024 has not been complied with.

5. Today, when this contempt petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader submits that enquiry proceedings has been concluded and an order has also been passed by proceedings dated 10.01.2025.

6. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that for having filed a writ petition and the contempt petition, a negative order has been passed as against the petitioner.

7. Considering the scope of the contempt petition and the order passed in the writ petition, this Contempt Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the proceedings dated 10.01.2025 in the manner known to law.
