ORDER

The petitioner seeks a direction to respondents 1 and 2 to consider his representation for cancellation of the legal heir certificate and to dispose of the appeal dated 01.09.2025 within a stipulated time period.

2. Mr.A.Kannan, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, he is the legal heir of his grandmother, Veerammal, who had no issues. However, one Kallanai obtained a legal heir certificate by using forged documents. Hence, the petitioner filed an appeal dated 01.09.2025 before the respondents 1 and 2 seeking cancellation of the said legal heir certificate. Since the said appeal is still pending, he has approached this Court.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents submits that the appeal of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court directs respondents 1 and 2 to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 01.09.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner as well as to the interested parties, if any.
