Respondents PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to declare the Tamil Nadu State as a "Drought Affected State" and provide Rs.20,000/- Crores as a drought relief fund and further direct the respondents 4 and 5 to provide Rs.50,000/- per acre as drought relief fund to all farmers in Tamil Nadu and provide Rs.30 Lakhs to the legal heirs of the farmers, who committed suicide because of crop failure within a stipulated period as fixed by this Court, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 03.01.2017.
