2. The petitioner had joined in the service of the second respondent University as a Lab Assistant in the year 1992. Subsequently, his services were regularised and selection grade and special grade were also awarded. According to the petitioner, after the implementation of VI Pay Commission and revision as per the Government Orders, his pay has to be revised in terms of the letter issued by the Director of Collegiate Education dated 08.07.2011. He has also sent several representations in this regard and the same were not considered by the respondent University. In the year 2019, he has also retired from service and waiting for revision of pay scale as per the letter dated 08.07.2011.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner submitted representations in the year 2019 itself and so far, no order has been passed by the University regarding his request.

4. Considering the fact that the petitioner's representation is pending before the respondent University for revision of pay scale and the same has not yet been considered, I am of the view that directing the respondent University to consider his representation would be appropriate with a rider that the respondent University is entitled to consider the petitioner's case on merits and pass appropriate orders. Accordingly, the respondent University is directed to consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
