ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed, seeking to direct the first respondent to renew the passport of the petitioner in Application No.TR2076157633324 dated 12.01.2024, considering his representation dated 01.10.2024. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Central Government Standing Counsel for the 1st respondent, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 2 and 3 and carefully perused the entire materials available on record. 3.On the basis of the counter affidavit filed by the third respondent, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 2 and 3 submitted that the petitioner is a habitual offender against whom so far as many as 12 cases were registered, which culminated in trial before the respective jurisdictional Judicial Magistrate Courts. Among which, 4 cases were acquitted and 6 cases were convicted with fine and in one case, action was dropped and yet another case is under investigation in FIR stage.

4.Considering the notorious criminal antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant a positive order. This Writ Petition is dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to use his passport till its 2/4

expiry on 27.12.2030 subject to the condition that he should seek the permission of the jurisdictional Judicial Magistrate as and when he desire to travel abroad, in case of pendency of criminal case against him. There shall be no order as to costs.
