O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 5 to provide patta in the name of petitioner for land to an extent of 1 acre 15 cents in Survey No. 488 situated at Thulaiyanoor Post, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District.
2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, 5 submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered and disposed of by the fifth respondent/Tahsildar, in accordance with law, within the time frame stipulated by this Court. 2/5
3. In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the fifth respondent/Tahsildar to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.09.2023 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. Such representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry, affording a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, the sixth respondent and to all other persons who may be affected by such decision during the course of the inquiry. In the event of any issues pertaining to land disputes, the parties shall approach the competent civil court. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
