ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus to pay interest for the belated disbursement of the terminal benefits.

2. According to the writ petitioner, he retired as a Special Grade Driver on 31.05.2022. His terminal benefits were disbursed to him after one year, namely on 30.05.2023. Seeking interest for the belated payment, the petitioner has sent a representation on 24.06.2023. Since there is no response from the respondents, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Considering the above said facts, the 1st respondent is directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% for the period of delay from 31.05.2022 to 30.05.2023 within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
