ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the period of delay from 03.06.2023 to 22.04.2025 in paying the amounts paid towards the terminal benefits, namely, gratuity and for the period of delay from 03.06.2023 to 15.04.2025 in paying the amounts paid towards the terminal benefits, namely, Encashment of Leave of her deceased husband/employee (Late) R.Murugeshraja, Staff No.DR14116, within a time frame as may be fixed by this court and without affecting the right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits.

2. Considering the admitted fact that there has been a delay in payment, the petitioner's husband is entitled to statutory interest as provided under law.

3. In view of the same, the writ petition stands disposed of. The respondent is directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated terminal benefits payable to the petitioner's husband from the 2/4

date of his entitlement till the date of his payment, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
