Heard both sides.

2. The petitioner's specific allegation is that some of the residents of the locality have installed pipes so as to let out the waste sullage and drainage water from their houses into the rain water drain channel.

3. A rain water drain channel cannot be converted into use for such purposes. The photographs produced by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner amply bear out the allegations made in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition. It is the duty of the Corporation authorities to ensure that such letting out is prevented and stopped. Effective and remedial action shall be taken by the respondents. This writ petition stands allowed. No costs.
