ORDER

The challenge in the writ petition is to a notice issued under Section 82 of the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Societies Act, 1983.

Today when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4, on instructions, would submit that the Society, namely, S.R.H.46, Amarar Rajiv Gandhi Handloom Weavers Cooperative Productions and Sales Society Limited, had become defunct.

3. In view of the fact that the Society had become defunct, even the proceedings initiated against the petitioner under Section 82 of the Act cannot be proceeded with. In such view of the issue, the Writ Petition had become infructuous and accordingly, the same is closed. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
