O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to take appropriate action on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, dated 28.08.2023.

2. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

4. On perusal of the complaint lodged by the petitioner it is seen that the respondents 5 & 6 are the son and daughter-in-law of the petitioner and they torturing the petitioner and also driven out him from his own house by settling the property in their favour. The complaint is very much maintainable as per the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. 2/5

5. In view of the above, the first respondent is directed to forward the complaint received from the petitioner, dated 28.08.2023 to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tuticorin. On receipt of the same, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tuticorin is directed to issue notice to the petitioner and the respondents 5 & 6 herein and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of the complaint received from the first respondent.

6. Further, in this regard, the petitioner has also lodged a complaint before the fourth respondent as against the respondents 5 & 6. Therefore, the fourth respondent is directed to consider the complaint lodged by the petitioner by conducting an enquiry and dispose of the same, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
