ORDER

The petitioner has sought for early disposal of C.C.No.1027 of 2023 on the file of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tirunelveli , in which, the petitioner is the victim.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the alleged occurrence took place in the year 2012 and an F.I.R was registered in Crime No.66 of 2012; that the investigation was completed and the final report was filed in the year 2023 and the same was taken on file by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tirunelveli and that the petitioner is a senior citizen, aged about 67 years and further delay in the trial would cause irrepairable loss to him.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the respondent has cited 17 witnesses and filed the final report.

4. This Court would ordinarily refrain from fixing a time limit for disposal of the trial. However, considering the fact that the petitioner is 2/4

aged about 67 years and the alleged occurrence took place in the year 2012, there shall be a direction to the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tirunelveli, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.1027 of 2023, and conclude the same within a period of one year from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
