ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus directing the respondent Manomaniam Sundaranar University to appoint the petitioner as Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Science in the post directed to be filled up vide Notification dated 22.07.2016.

2. The contention of the petitioner is that he is legally entitled to be appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Science as per the Notification dated 22.07.2016. But the contention of the respondent is that inspite of educational qualification, the petitioner is not suitable for the said post and therefore, the petitioner was not selected in the recruitment process. Aggrieved over the same, the present Writ Petition is filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that till this date, the respondent has not selected anybody and still the post is vacant. 2/4

Earlier the petitioner was engaged as Guest Lecturer and the petitioner claims that atleast the respondent should continue engaging the petitioner for the post of Guest Lecturer. But the respondent submitted that for the said post, some other person is being engaged as Guest Lecturer.

4. After considering the rival claims, this Court is directing the respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner to engage the petitioner as Guest Lecturer, if there is any need.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions stand closed.
