ORDER
The Contempt Petition has been filed for non-compliance of the order dated 13.04.2023 passed in W.P.(MD). No. 15791 of 2022 by this Court, thereby directed the contemnors / respondents to proceed further in laying of road for the benefit of the villagers in accordance with the condition of the tender.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate, on instructions, would submit that as directed by this Court, the respondents almost completed the road laying process to the tune of 60%. While being so, the petitioner submitted objections to lay the water channel on the ground that it would not work out, it will be closed during rainy season. On considering the objection, a detailed estimate was drawn to construct CC drainage channel on the northern side of the road from Chinthalakarai to Duraisamypuram at a distance of 0.630 Kms at an estimated cost of Rs.49.65 lakhs. The District Collector, Thoothukudi, also agreed for administrative sanction for the work vide proceedings in Roc.A11/7462/2023 dated 09.09.2023. Accordingly, the construction of CC drainage is under progress. 2/4
3. Therefore, there is no wilful or disobedience of the order passed by this Court and as such, there is no contempt as against the respondents. Hence, this Contempt Petition is dismissed. 27.11.2024 Internet : Yes/No NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes/No LS TO:-
