ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking orders to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate 1/4

Court, Rajapalayam to complete the trial and dispose of the case in C.C.No.14 of 2020 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners.

3. It is evident from the records that the respondent/defacto complainant has lodged a complaint under Section 200 Cr.P.C. against the petitioners for the alleged offences under Sections 138 r/w 142 of Negotiable Instruments Act.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that originally the case was taken on file in S.T.C.No.141 of 2011 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, Srivilliputhur and subsequently, the case was transferred to the Judicial Magistrate Court, Rajapalayam and the case was taken on file in C.C.No.14 of 2020. He would further submit that though the petitioners have been appearing regularly, the case is pending for the past 11 years.

5. Considering the above facts and circumstances and also the fact that the case is pending from 2011 onwards, the learned Judicial 2/4

Magistrate, Rajapalayam is directed to complete the trial and dispose of the case in C.C.No.14 of 2020 within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
